2012 College Football Season!!

I'm back and ready to continue with my not-too-scientific, always interesting college football rankings! A quick note for those of you who didn't check these out last year, or maybe you just forgot:

1. These rankings are completely for fun, nothing else.
2. These rankings are my attempt at computer rankings. They do not reflect my opinion on who is the best or worst in college football, they only reflect my completely made-up algorithm.
3. Since these are computer rankings, they will look weird and/or terrible early in the season. This makes sense. There's a reason the BCS rankings don't come out until later in the season--they have computer rankings in them, and those are always a bit off early in the season. 
• Seriously, check out my rankings from last year. Rutgers, Kansas, and Iowa State were in the Top 5 after the first week. I promise, they get better as the season goes on.
4. These do not take into account any preseason bias. They do take into account win percentage, margin of victory, and strength of schedule.
• The strength of schedule portion takes into account the entire schedule, even early in the season. I'll admit, I'm way too lazy to make this work better than that. Unless I can come up with an easy way to do it, it's staying that way.
5. I reserve the right to tweak and/or completely change the algorithm without warning during the season. You can't complain. If you do complain, well, that's just silly. Why complain over some meaningless, just-for-fun computer rankings?

I really enjoyed seeing how these rankings came out every week, and hopefully some of you do, too! I'll see you all after Monday's Georgia Tech - Virginia Tech game is over with the first rankings of 2012!
